Abundant Life Worship Center is a non-denominational Christian ministry established by Pastors Derry and Tammie Moten.  We are not a traditional church, but a fellowship of believers, that are committed to reflecting the love of God in tangible ways, and by displaying the transforming Gospel of Jesus Christ.  We extend ourselves to you as a ministry that desires to see you flourish in God’s love and grace.  This begins as you enter our warm and caring environment that welcomes you to freely worship God and experience His presence.

A Place for All People
Our aim is to reach all people for Christ, therefore we expect to grow as a congregation of all demographics; both multi-ethnic and inter-generational, both white collar professionals and blue collar workers; PhDs and “GEDs”; tech savvy folks as well as those who prefer to live a no frills, simple kind of life. And best of all, no group of people will ever be considered more special than the others – we’re one in Christ!
Love and Connection
We are a place that is serious about love, true love, the kind of love that comes from real connection with God and others. A heartfelt greeting is part of what makes a church a church. No matter what question you might have, just ask. Our greeters are there to help you get settled and comfortable. We are casual atmosphere where friendships can form and relationships deepen.
One of the ways to express worship to God is through music.  We love music, all kinds of music. From hymns to contemporary tunes, we use music to honor God and to express our love towards Him.  We invite you to participate by joining in.  If you don’t know the words to the songs, don’t worry, we post the lyrics on the wall just for you.
Conversation and Relevant Messages
Expect to be noticed. Expect people to say something like, “Hi, we haven’t met before, is this your first time?” Expect for people to reach out to you in love.  When it comes to the sermons and Bible lessons we receive, don’t be surprised when you find yourself laughing and learning at the same time!  Our ministry team is gifted in providing scripture based practical and relevant teaching that addresses the realities of modern life in an open and loving manner.
The bottom line is, we believe you’ll be glad you came to ALWC!

ALWC Ministries

One of our goals at ALWC is to build a network of need meeting ministries that allow us to fulfill our vision of positively and eternally impacting our marketplace, community, church, and selves through the transforming Gospel of Jesus Christ.   To fulfill this mandate, the following are ministries that will bless your life and add value to your journey in Christ.
The major environment that ALWC uses for discipleship and spiritual growth is the Abundant Life Groups and Ministry Networks. Life Groups bring people together for times of practical study of the Word, prayer, fellowship (partnership and participation), and celebrating and enjoying life. Ministry Networks focus on creating a series of opportunities for fellowship style gatherings, dealing with special issues, and outreaching to our communities.
The foundation of the Life groups and Networks is the ALWC Guiding Principle #10 – Building Relationships.
Outreach and Missions
ALWC addresses the spiritual and felt needs our our community by going into all the world through our Outreach and Missions Ministry. Our Homeless feeding program is an expression of love to the Vallejo Homeless community by providing food, hygine products, and fellowship.
Our missions outreach has the goal of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ on every continent through missionary support, and direct ministry through the ALWC family.
Members of our team have traveled to multiple locations in the Caribbean, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia on missionary outreaches.

The ALWC Prayer Ministry has the great privilege and responsibility to cultivate an intimacy and awareness of God’s presence as we intercede for the needs of others. First and foremost, praise, worship and thanksgiving is our love response to God; while prayer and compassion is our response to the burdens of others. We believe in praying deliberately, fervently, and according to the biblical pattern for the needs of our families, neighbors, communities, and our leaders.

As we prepare to eat, we will pray in public and in private covering all who are present at our place as wel …

Thanksgiving: More Than a Holiday, A State of Being

As we prepare for the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, marked by Thanksgiving, I want to take a moment to reflect on what the Bible says about it. As the title of this piece indicates, thanksgiving is far more than a holiday, it is a state of being. Not only does it reflect what we are thinking and feeling in any given moment, it is the precursor to peace according to Philippians …

We live in communities where we being taught that the concept of God is antiquated, that there are no moral standards, and that there is no need to teach our children to pray and no space for that type of activity in our schools. We being sold the flawed ideology that no one has the right to judge, that we can do what we please, that we can have freedom without accountability or responsibility. That is, until someone viola …
