loving, learning, living the abundant life

Take a few minutes to get acquainted with our website and find more of what Abundant Life Worship Center (ALWC) is all about.
Abundant Life Worship Center is a non-denominational Christian ministry established by Pastors Derry and Tammie Moten.  We are not a traditional church, but a fellowship of believers, that are committed to reflecting the love of God in tangible ways, and by displaying the transforming Gospel of Jesus Christ.  We extend ourselves to you as a ministry that desires to see you flourish in God’s love and grace.  This begins as you enter our warm and caring environment that welcomes you to freely worship God and experience His presence.

A Place for All People
Our aim is to reach all people for Christ, therefore we expect to grow as a congregation of all demographics; both multi-ethnic and inter-generational, both white collar professionals and blue collar workers; PhDs and “GEDs”; tech savvy folks as well as those who prefer to live a no frills, simple kind of life. And best of all, no group of people will ever be considered more special than the others – we’re one in Christ!
Love and Connection
We are a place that is serious about love, true love, the kind of love that comes from real connection with God and others. A heartfelt greeting is part of what makes a church a church. No matter what question you might have, just ask. Our greeters are there to help you get settled and comfortable. We are casual atmosphere where friendships can form and relationships deepen.
One of the ways to express worship to God is through music.  We love music, all kinds of music. From hymns to contemporary tunes, we use music to honor God and to express our love towards Him.  We invite you to participate by joining in.  If you don’t know the words to the songs, don’t worry, we post the lyrics on the wall just for you.
Conversation and Relevant Messages
Expect to be noticed. Expect people to say something like, “Hi, we haven’t met before, is this your first time?” Expect for people to reach out to you in love.  When it comes to the sermons and Bible lessons we receive, don’t be surprised when you find yourself laughing and learning at the same time!  Our ministry team is gifted in providing scripture based practical and relevant teaching that addresses the realities of modern life in an open and loving manner.
The bottom line is, we believe you’ll be glad you came to ALWC!

Be the Church, Change the World pt3
Jesus never intended the word “church’ to refer to a building.  Instead He intended for church to refer to a group of people (the ekklesia) to be gathered in His name. Becoming the church means that this ekklesia focuses itself on fulfilling their purpose of bringing the will of God to pass in the earth. Becoming a world changer means that the ekklesia focus on actively encouraging people in their relational world to become followers of Christ.

Be The Church, Change the World pt2
In part two of this series, we focus on the reality that God has supernaturally and strategically placed people in our spheres of influence, that need our ministry, but we may not currently be looking at ourselves as the salt and light that Jesus has called us to be. Join us as we discuss the stewardship of influence

Be the Church Change the World
Today we begin a new series titled is titled “Be the Church, Change the World.
Changing the world might sound like an overwhelming task for any believer to take on.  And it is- that’s why God hasn’t asked you to do it.  While some (a few) may be called to take on a specific call to do something global that impacts the
world, most of us won’t be.  But what God has called us all to, is to make an impact with the Spheres of Influence to which he has given each of us access.
God has supernaturally and strategically placed people in our relational world, that need our ministry to today’s message and you will be blessed by the revelation of what it means to be the church.

Can I Trust You?

Imagine you are having a conversation with God and He opens by asking, “I have given you the key to the Kingdom, can I trust you to do what I have asked you to do my child?” Beaming with delight that God has chosen you for this honor you blurt out, “Of course Father, You can trust me!” Anxious to prove yourself to Him, you watch every step and hold the key tight every night and look at it all shiny and new each dawn. …

Give the Gift of Presence

During the Christmas holidays, we will use many words that start with the letter “P” as we decorate trees, wrap presents, plan our parties, pack items for shipping, ask the kids for a little peace and quiet, count the people on our guest lists, and set the table with placemats, poinsettias, and pine combs. As we prepare to eat, we will pray in public and in private covering all who are present at our place as wel …

Thanksgiving: More Than a Holiday, A State of Being

As we prepare for the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, marked by Thanksgiving, I want to take a moment to reflect on what the Bible says about it. As the title of this piece indicates, thanksgiving is far more than a holiday, it is a state of being. Not only does it reflect what we are thinking and feeling in any given moment, it is the precursor to peace according to Philippians …
