Building Prayer Declarations

Pray Without Ceasing Sermon PowerPoint TemplateThe simple definition of Prayer is:
      • Talking to God
  • Listening to God
  • Partnering with God.

One of the ways we can talk to God and listen to God is through the use of declarations.  There are many types of declarations, but the declarations that we are talking about are ones that are created from scripture; we refer to them as Scriptural Declarations.

A Scriptural Declaration is statement whose major content is scripture, which is meditated upon and spoken aloud.  These declarations can be about:

  • Who God is to us
  • Who we are to God
  • Who we are IN Christ
  • What we can do in Christ
  • What is under our feet because of Christ
  • How people around us are effected by the Word we proclaim
  • How the environment has to be changed because of the presence of the Lord
  • How everything must bow to the Name of Jesus
  • Anything else that the Word of God promises.

Your prayer journal is for the documenting of observations and revelations you receive as you study the Word, and the creation of declarations as you begin to renew your mind.

Examples:

To Receive the Infilling of the Holy Spirit

My heavenly father, I am your child, for I believe in my heart that Jesus has been raised from the dead and I have confessed Him as my Lord.

Jesus said, “How much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him,” I ask You now in the name of Jesus to fill me with the Holy Spirit.  I step into the fullness and power that I desire in the name of Jesus.  I confess that I am a Spirit-filled Christian.  As I yield my vocal organs, I expect to speak in tongues for the Spirit gives me utterance in the name of Jesus.  Praise the Lord!  Amen
